Blighted Properties

The LPG is compiling a list of blighted properties in the Lacombe area
for submittal to Parish officials.

If you have identified a property that is "blighted", please click the link
below (Report Blighted Properties), fill out the form, and click "submit".

As a guide to determine a true "blighted" property, the property is usually:

  • In extremely poor condition (dilapidated, decayed, unsafe, or unsanitary)
  • May be damaged or partially falling down
  • Typically vacant or not lawfully occupied
  • A fire hazard
  • Overgrown by weeds, shrubs, or trees
  • No electric meter in place
  • Open, missing, or boarded windows and doors
  • Junk vehicles or equipment stored on property
  • Available to vagrants and other persons freely
  • Typically in this condition for many months or years
  • Depreciates surrounding properties
  • Considered a danger to public welfare or safety

A property does not have to conform to the above listing to be labeled "blighted", but
we will attempt to address the most severe cases of blight first, which would resemble this list.
